Board of Directors
Dave Barrows
Dave Barrows brings many years of experience to the Board of Directors. He has made outstanding contributions in the areas of government service, not-for-profit leadership and academic life. For many years he worked with KPMG in the Toronto office specializing in economics and strategic planning studies. He served on the Board of Directors of the Ontario March of Dimes and the allocations committee of the United Way of Toronto. For twenty years he was a senior executive with the government of the Province of Ontario. He was the executive responsible for the Ontario government in the Canada-United States Free Trade negotiations.
Dave Barrows is currently the Associate Director of the MPA Program at the Schulich School of Business at York University. He is responsible for the design, development and delivery of graduate programs in the area of public management and public policy. In addition, he teaches courses in strategic management and economics. He has conducted numerous training programs in Canada and internationally, including Botswana, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and China. He is author of over thirty articles in the fields of economics, government and public policy. He is co-author of the textbook “Economics for Managers” published by World Scientific in Singapore.
Lawrence Gurizzan
Mr. Gurizzan is a Founder, Director and Chief Database Architect for SyncBASE – Parent of OPTRACK. In his role as head of Database & Systems Architecture, Mr. Gurizzan plays a key role in the ongoing development of the SyncBASE technical architecture, product offerings and the mentoring of team members. Mr. Gurizzan holds a B.A. in Computer Science from York University and has 25 years progressive experience in information technology consulting roles. He maintains particular expertise in the area of high availability data warehousing and has worked on multiple engagements involving systems analysis, design and database development with Mercer Consulting, Kraft Canada Inc., Ontario Hydro and CP Rail.
Sam Ishak
Sam Ishak was one of the original founders of SyncBASE – Parent of OPTRACK, IFRSTRACK, and CERTRACK. He is currently the Director, Strategy and Enterprise Architecture of First Canadian Title, Canada’s Leading provider of Title Insurance. In addition, he is the treasurer of the Toronto Chapter of the Association of Open Group Enterprise Architects (AOGEA). Prior to joining SyncBASE, Mr. Ishak was the Enterprise Architect of Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC).
Mr. Ishak has a B.Sc. degree in computer science graduating with high honors in his program. In addition to more than 15 years of working experience in the IT industry, he is also a Licensed Professional Engineer of Ontario (PEng.) and a Certified Master IT Architect by the Open Group.
Tom Keane
Tom Keane is a marketing consultant in Toronto. He is the President of Strategic Marketing Counsel Inc., a firm that provides upfront research, communications planning and performance measurement services for advertisers. Tom also lectures as a Professor at Seneca College in the Creative Advertising Program. He is currently involved in the not-for-profit sector as a member of the Campaign Council for L'Arche Daybreak, an organization dedicated to "making known the gifts of people with intellectual disabilities". He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Planet in Focus. He is a committed environmentalist and believes in the power of art to educate, change attitudes and transform behavior over time.
Tom has enjoyed a long and successful career in the marketing business. After graduating with an Honors B.A. in History from Concordia University, he started his career as a market researcher with Alcan Aluminium Ltd, and then moved on to work in the daily newspaper industry in research, promotion and sales, and also served as a Sales Manager for the Globe and Mail. He later joined KPMG and became a Partner in the firm in 1988, and worked internationally in the Netherlands. He has worked on brand advertising campaigns, strategic marketing projects, new media ventures, and media product launches. Tom also operated an audience/ market testing service for Canadian film directors, producers and distributors in the nineties.
Kushal Mehta
Mr. Mehta is a Senior Business Systems Analyst and Service Leader with SyncBASE – Parent of OPTRACK. In his role, Mr. Mehta is a principal business designer of OPTRACK and he coordinates the OPTRACK support team. He has led the implementation of Employee Stock Option Accounting (ESOP) solutions for over 600 enterprise clients. In the area of ESOP accounting practices and strategies, he is a generally recognized subject matter expert, and he frequently acts as a business advisor to private companies. Mr. Mehta has grown with SyncBASE since its inception and has cumulated extensive and in-depth expertise relating to CICA 3870, CICA 3500, FAS123(R) and FAS128.
In addition to his regulatory specializations, Mr. Mehta also has functional expertise in the areas of application design, financial reporting and disclosure, systems implementation, training and client consultation. Mr. Mehta holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with Finance specialization and a post-graduate Certificate in Financial Service Compliance Administration.
Ramy Taraboulsi
Ramy Taraboulsi is the CEO and Founder of SyncBASE – Parent of OPTRACK. In his role, Mr. Taraboulsi maintains responsibility as the chief steward for the SyncBASE culture, operational effectiveness, client satisfaction and the overall strategic direction of the organization. In addition to his role as CEO, Mr. Taraboulsi is the director of various public companies, a Professor with the Schulich School of Business at York University and Author. Prior to founding SyncBASE, he held positions of increasing responsibility with executive positions including: Chief System Architect, Mercer Consulting; Vice President, Internet Technology, Merrill Lynch; Vice President Internet Strategy and Development, Fidelity Investments and VP information services, Insurance Bureau of Canada.
In addition to his operations experience, Mr. Taraboulsi also has significant concurrent academic experience. He writes and lectures extensively in the areas of: Option Valuation Methods and Strategies, Employee Stock Option Accounting Methods and Strategies, Strategic approaches to Market Traded Options, Business Ethics, Corporate Governance, Business Systems Analysis and Data Modeling. He has held the position of Professor of Ethics, Leadership and Corporate Governance at Seneca College and Adjunct Professor, Schulich School of Business at York University. In terms of his education, Mr. Taraboulsi holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, an M.Sc. in Computer Science, an MBA and he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Analyst Team
Romeo Academia
Romeo Academia is a Business Systems Analyst supporting OPTRACK and IFRSTRACK and an internal projects lead. In addition to a strong background in operations management, Romeo also brings significant technology experience to his role with OPTRACK. As a Business Systems Analyst, Romeo maintains primary responsibility for Employee Stock Option Accounting (ESOP) support, reconciliation, requirements gathering, testing and product enhancement. Prior to joining OPTRACK, Romeo implemented and managed production control systems at Toyota affiliate Toyetetsu. His experience also includes roles as: National Channel Marketing Manager (Philippines) for Pepsi and National Fountain Operations Manager (Philippines) for Coca Cola. Romeo holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from California State University. (ext. 107)
Harjeet Bhatti
Harjeet Bhatti is a Business System Analyst who is primarily responsible for providing support for Stock-Based Compensation accounting issues in OPTRACK and IFRS support for IFRSTRACK. She is involved in accounting research, systems documentation and data management. Harjeet holds an Honors Bachelors degree in Commerce with a major in Accounting and is currently pursuing her level-5 CGA. She possesses valuable experience in the fields of customer support and cost accounting. Harjeet has held senior accounting positions in a manufacturing setting and has actively participated in other functions like forecasting, cash flow management, budgeting and process redesigning on a departmental level. Jessy Dong
Jessy Dong is a Business Systems Analyst supporting OPTRACK, CERTRACK and IFRSTRACK. Jessy's expertise lies in client support, systems documentation, research and product development, financial analysis and data management. Jessy holds a Master's of Finance from the Schulich School of Business, York University; an Honours Bachelor in Finance specialization from York University and she is currently working towards completing her CFA designation. Jessy is also actively involved research activities asociated portfolio management and derivative trading strategies. (ext. 110)
Jaspal Gill
Jaspal Gill provides support for stock based compensation accounting issues for OPTRACK and IFRS support for IFRSTRACK. In addition to her support activities, she performs accounting research, systems documentation product training and data management. Jaspal comes with many years of experience in customer support and accounting. She possesses extensive experience in financial planning for individuals and financial statement generation for financial and retail institutions. She is pursuing her CGA level 5 with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Ryerson University. (ext. 104)
Noureen Islah
Noureen Islah is a Business Systems Analyst providing OPTRACK support, pre-sales engineering and training. In her role, Noureen maintains responsibility as the senior resource for implementation training as well as lead responsibilities for client facing projects. Prior to joining OPTRACK, Noureen worked extensively in Accounting and Finance with Analyst roles at Richmond Trading Inc, Macter Pharmaceutical and Internships at AMEX, Faysal Bank and Pakistan Petroleum. In addition to her financial experience, Noureen also has significant systems experience having developed, enhanced and maintained management reporting systems in many of her positions. Noureen holds an honours Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, an MBA in Finance, and a Masters in Project Management. (ext. 108)
Lina Lin
Lina is the product manager for CERTRACK. In her role, Lina is responsible for product enhancement and quality assurance testing, as well as implementation of new clients and providing product support for existing clients. Lina has grown with the company over the years and has had ample experience in many areas within the organization. She is also responsible for overseeing SyncBase’s SAS-70 Type II audit and related policies and procedures. Lina has competed her MSc. in Neural Sciences which brings a unique set of problem solving and analytical skills to the company. (ext. 105)
Osmel Martinez
Osmel Martinez is a Business Analyst supporting OPTRACK and IFRSTRACK. His primary responsibilities include Employee Stock Option Accounting and Employee Share Purchase Plan support, new customer implementations and internal project management. Osmel has extensive experience in risk management, data analysis and systems implementations. Prior to joining SyncBase, Osmel has held senior executive positions at several international financial institutions in the areas of credit risk, operations and systems. He holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics, an MBA and an M.A. in Economics from Carleton University. (ext 106)
Kushal Mehta

Purab Mehta
Purab Mehta is a Business Systems Analyst supporting OPTRACK, CERTRACK and IFRSTRACK and Leader of the data transformation group within the support team. In his role, Purab maintains primary responsibility for client data analysis as well as data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) for over 670 enterprise client implementations to date. Purab maintains expert level skills in all areas of Excel and he leads all internal data transformation training in addition to acting as the primary client contact for all data issues. Prior to joining the company, Purab held Operations Analyst roles with both Citigroup and JP Morgan Chase supporting Retail Banking, Credit Risk Management and Private Client Banking. Purab holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a specialization in Accounting and Finance and a Masters in Commerce with specialization in Business Management.
Cillia Zeng
Cillia Zeng is a Business Systems Analyst supporting OPTRACK, CERTRACK and IFRSTRACK, with particular responsibility for client support, systems documentation, research and product enhancements, financial analysis and data management. Cillia holds an Master's Degree in Financial Economics from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto; an Honours B. Comm. from the University of Toronto with a Finance specialization and she is currently pursuing her Level 3 CFA designation. Prior to joining the company, Cillia completed internships with American Express, West China Securities and she was a Teaching Assistant in Econometrics at U of T.
